Original poster from 1948 of the exhibition 'the Dutch Woman', on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Queen Wilhelmina and also the year she abdicated; her daughter Juliana succeeded her. On the occasion of this event, women's organizations from all pillars organized this exhibition.
The topic was women's empowerment, but not everyone was enthusiastic about the poster. For example, Annie-Romein Verschoor said: 'If I look closely, that flag hangs over a stick and is as empty as a blown eggshell. Because the Dutch woman does not exist. '
A book about this exhibition with the same image on the cover is owned by the Rijksmuseum. The poster is 100 x 60 cm and completely new framed in a black frame with museum glass.
