An elegant Italian desk by Pier Luigi Colli, made in Turin during the 1930s. Its geometric construction, warm wood grain and detailed finish reflect the transition between Art Deco and Italian modernism.

Design

The rectangular top features a symmetrical veneer pattern that follows the natural movement of the wood. A finely carved border runs beneath the top, adding rhythm to the otherwise clean construction. Six drawers offer practical storage, divided evenly between the front and back. The original key is marked “Colli Torino.” This maker’s mark confirms that the desk was produced by Pier Luigi Colli in Turin.

Two broad supports curve subtly inwards and are divided by dark vertical lines. They rest on stepped feet with carved detailing and are connected by a long wooden stretcher. These architectural elements give the desk a strong presence while maintaining an open and balanced appearance.

Finished on both sides, the desk can stand freely in a room rather than being placed against a wall. Its proportions and craftsmanship make it suitable for a study, office or living space.

Condition

The desk is in very good vintage condition and has been professionally restored with respect for its age and original character. Minor signs of wear remain consistent with a piece from the 1930s.

I recently bought some amazing Artwork from AtKris Studio online. The whole experience was amazing. The transaction was amazingly efficient. The crating and shipping of the artwork to the United States from the Netherlands could not have gone smoother and the customer service was spot on!!  Krista was amazing and I highly recommend AtKris Studio!

This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
