Clean proportions, carefully considered details and exceptional rosewood make this sideboard a beautiful example of Danish modern design. Designed by Ib Kofod Larsen during the 1960s, it balances generous storage with an elegant architectural presence.

Design

Crafted in richly figured rosewood, the sideboard immediately stands out through its expressive grain, which continues seamlessly across the four doors. The warm tones and dramatic figuring give the cabinet depth while remaining true to the restrained character of Scandinavian design.

Raised on a refined solid rosewood frame with tapered legs, the cabinet appears to float above the floor. A horizontal stretcher reinforces the composition and emphasizes its long, low silhouette. Recessed sculptural pulls are integrated into each door, preserving the uninterrupted front while adding a subtle handcrafted detail.

Inside, the layout offers practical storage with adjustable shelves and a section fitted with drawers, making the piece equally suitable as a dining room sideboard, media cabinet or office storage. Every element reflects Kofod Larsen's ability to combine functionality with understated elegance.

Produced in Denmark during the 1960s, this sideboard represents one of the designer's most recognizable cabinet forms and shares many characteristics with his celebrated work for Faarup Møbelfabrik, including the FA66 series.

Condition

The sideboard is in very good condition, while respecting its original character and patina. It is in excellent vintage condition with only minor signs of age and use consistent with its period.
