A deck chair, designed in 1938 by Fratelli Reguitti in collaboration with Louis Vuitton, is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship and design. This chair is a perfect example of the exceptional quality and attention to detail that characterized the work of both Fratelli Reguitti and Louis Vuitton.
Design
It is made of high-quality wood, which has been carefully crafted to create a sturdy, yet elegant, frame. The leather that covers the chair is bordered with cross-stitch on the edges, adding a touch of sophistication to the design. The leather is stamped with the maker's mark, 'Maker GIGI'S Leather', on the underside, indicating its authenticity and quality. The chair has a rich history and provenance, having once been a part of a private collection in Padua.
It also has been restored, with the seat reupholstered with the original leather and corresponding original stitching. The restoration was carried out by LMVH in the workshop of Roberto Sartolini, Fiesso d'Artico, who also worked for Louis Vuitton/LMVH Group. The restoration has not only preserved the beauty and authenticity of the chair but has also given it a striking patina that speaks to its age and usage. It is a beautiful and functional piece of furniture, designed with both style and comfort in mind.
Condition
The condition of the chair is consistent with age and usage with some scuffs and marks, but we think this adds to its charm and character. In conclusion, this chair is a stunning example of a masterfully crafted piece of furniture. Its quality and design are unparalleled, and its history and provenance add to its appeal. This chair is not just a functional piece of furniture, but it is also a work of art that will add a touch of sophistication to any room it graces.
Excellent responsiveness, and with wonderful curatorial chops!
This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
Table arrived very well crated, seller made process seamless.
