Luigi Pellegrin’s work for MIM Roma in the 1960s includes low, box-like seating built around moulded bases and continuous upholstered volumes. This set, comprising a three-seat sofa, a pair of lounge chairs, a square coffee table and a square bar table, corresponds in its seating to documented Pellegrin designs for MIM Roma from that decade, and retains a visible MIM mark on one base.
Design
The seating is built from a clear contrast between a dark green upholstered body and a white moulded support beneath. On the sofa and both chairs, the plinth-like bases project beyond the upholstered volume as a thin, pale platform, so the pieces read as compact blocks set on a separate structural tray rather than resting directly on the floor. That base also broadens into a flat rectangular foot, which keeps the silhouette low and horizontal when the set is seen from across the room. In the photographs this repeated white support links the sofa, chairs and coffee table visually, giving the group a consistent lower line even though the upholstered elements above differ in width.
The sofa and chairs use straight outer faces and a more worked inner profile. Their outer backs and sides remain close to rectangular, but the inside arms turn inward with a rounded upper corner where they meet the backrest. This softening is easiest to read in the chair backs, where the top rail and arm form an angled enclosure around the seat. The button tufting is kept to a single horizontal band across the inner backs and returns onto the inside arm panels, introducing a shallow drawn-in surface across otherwise flat upholstered planes. That detail breaks up the broad back panels without changing the box-like outline of the pieces.
The sofa is arranged with three separate loose seat cushions set within a continuous upholstered frame, whereas each chair uses a single seat cushion within the same enclosing arm-and-back structure. This difference makes the long sofa read as a sequence across the front, with cushion joints marking its width, where the chairs appear more compact and self-contained. The seat cushions sit slightly recessed below the top edge of the arms and back, so the upper perimeter remains visible as a continuous band around the sitter. In oblique view, that raised border gives the seating a contained, architectural character, with the dark fabric wrapping the outer shell and the inner surfaces as one continuous field.
The two tables extend the set through matching geometry rather than matching function. The coffee table carries a square top with a large circular opening at the centre; this is lit from below, turning the middle of the table into a bright disc set within a darker square field. Around that opening, the top surface shares the seating’s greem tone, and the perimeter is finished with a visible green-tinted glass edge that sharpens the outline.
The bar table is more enclosed in form, with a square rim around a recessed organiser divided into angular compartments and four circular recesses for bottles or glasses. Small castors beneath the lower body separate it from the fixed plinth bases of the seating, so this piece reads as the most mobile element in the group.
Seen together, the set is organised through repeated square and rectangular forms, the dark upholstered volumes held above the floor on matching white platforms. The tables extend that arrangement into the centre of the group, one through light and glass, the other through open storage and castored movement.
The set features multiple MIM Roma stickers.

I recently bought some amazing Artwork from AtKris Studio online. The whole experience was amazing. The transaction was amazingly efficient. The crating and shipping of the artwork to the United States from the Netherlands could not have gone smoother and the customer service was spot on!! Krista was amazing and I highly recommend AtKris Studio!
Table arrived very well crated, seller made process seamless.
This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
