This sculptural tube lamp by Aldo Nason for Mazzega offers a clear take on lighting design from the 1970s Italian era. This piece balances technical precision with artistic flow.
Design
Six tall glass tubes rise from a heavy circular chromed metal base, arranged tightly in a columnar composition. The tubes vary slightly in height, subtly echoing an orgue or a skyline if you will. Each tube houses an E14 light fixture, delivering a warm, upward glow when lit. The glass shows a gentle gradient, transitioning from translucent at the base to fully clear at the top, diffusing the light naturally. The chrome base anchors the form and reflects the surroundings, adding visual depth. The base is slightly heightened and subtly lifts the piece from the table or floor. This configuration casts an ambient light with upward directionality, ideal for corners or side tables. The switch is located on a white control box connected to the cord.
This Aldo Nason piece combines material honesty and geometric rhythm. It’s both precise and playful—typical of Mazzega’s craftsmanship.
Condition
The lamp is in good condition with minor signs of use on the base. The glass tubes are clear and intact, with no visible chips or cracks.
