Design

Executed in Slavonian oak, the set shows the designer’s preference for wood as a material with presence and structure. The benches are low and grounded, with a slightly inclined back that gives the geometry a more relaxed line. Their broad wooden sides frame the upholstery almost like panels, allowing the oak grain to remain a central part of the design. One storage unit is open and shelf-like, the other combines open space with a small hinged compartment, adding a practical note without disturbing the composition. A subtle variation in tone between the two benches introduces a quiet contrast, likely the result of natural ageing or differences within the oak itself, and adds to the sense of authenticity. Reupholstered in “Alchimia Georgio” by Élitis, the blue and off-white fabric brings movement against the stillness of the wood.

Condition

The condition is very good, with light wear and minor surface traces consistent with age and use. One bench presents a slightly lighter tone than the other, in line with natural material variation and ageing; the upholstery has been renewed in recent fabric.
