A sculptural three-legged chair by German woodworker Xaver Seemüller, believed to date from the 1960s or 1970s. The design combines a finely constructed wooden frame with a handwoven cane seat.

Design
The chair is arranged around an unusual triangular plan. Three slender, gently tapered legs support a rounded cane seat, while an open wooden frame rises to form the arms and curved backrest.

The continuous back rail follows the shape of the chair, widening slightly at its centre to provide comfortable support. Carefully executed exposed joints at the front corners reveal the precision of the construction and introduce a subtle decorative detail. The warm tone and visible grain of the wood contrast naturally with the lighter woven cane.

Although visually delicate, the chair has a clear architectural quality. Its open structure and three-legged stance give it a distinctive silhouette from every angle.

An elegant and uncommon chair that balances sculptural form with traditional craftsmanship. Its compact proportions make it suitable as an occasional chair, desk chair or distinctive accent piece.

Condition
The chair remains in very good vintage condition, with minor signs of use consistent with its age. The wooden frame and cane seat present well.

This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
