A refined interplay of glass and glow, this set of three LP 277 wall lights exemplifies Carlo Nason’s approach to lighting as both sculpture and atmosphere. Designed in the 1970s for the historic Murano glassworks Mazzega, these pieces combine modularity with visual softness.
Design
Each lamp is constructed from four horizontal bands and three vertical bands of textured glass bricks. These bands are alternating between clear and tobacco tones, that curve gently around the light source. The amber hues enhance the warmth of the emitted light, while the transparent segments add contrast and depth. Light escapes through the uneven glass surfaces, casting diffused reflections on the surrounding wall and underscoring the artisanal nature of Murano production. Subtle variations in shape and density across the bricks suggest hand-finishing, typical of Mazzega's work under Nason’s direction. The use of modular elements hints at Nason’s experimentation with repetition and form, a hallmark of his work during this period.
Originally conceived to suit both domestic interiors and contract applications, these lamps remain adaptable to a wide range of settings. Whether mounted in a symmetrical trio or used individually, they create a composed yet expressive presence. Their modest size belies the impact they have once lit.
Condition
All three wall lamps are in very good condition. The glass surfaces show minimal signs of wear consistent with age, and the wiring appears to have been checked or replaced. Fixtures are ready to use.
We also have the matching floorlamp.
This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
I just received the absolutely gorgeous credenza yesterday. It was professionally packaged and delivered just as promised. I cannot more highly recommend AtKris Studio.
Excellent responsiveness, and with wonderful curatorial chops!
