Giuseppe Rivadossi’s furniture carries the unmistakable clarity of handwork, structure, and thought. This 1970s coffee table, produced by Officina Rivadossi, reflects his philosophy of design as a physical dialogue between maker and material.

Constructed from solid gutted Slavonian oak, the table’s architecture is immediately defined by its honesty. The exposed finger joints at the top of the legs recall traditional woodworking techniques, and the visible tenons throughout the frame offer a visual reminder of the table’s artisanal construction. Above, a thick glass top sits in refined contrast with the oak frame, allowing a view of the central lattice structure. Below this, a second glass tier adds practical storage while enhancing the overall lightness of the design.

The proportions are carefully resolved, with the broad oak grain adding visual rhythm against the clarity of the glass. Subtle branding from Officina Rivadossi is stamped into the inner stretcher, adding an unobtrusive mark of provenance. The piece sits comfortably at the intersection of traditional Italian craftsmanship and sculptural Brutalism, typical of Rivadossi’s furniture of the period.

An expressive, functional object designed with structural clarity and balance in mind.

Condition
This table remains in very good vintage condition with only gentle signs of wear. The oak has aged beautifully with a light patina, and both glass tiers are intact and well-maintained. The maker’s stamp is clear and legible.

This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
