Carlo Nason, born into one of Murano's oldest glassmaking families, developed a unique approach to lighting design, shaped by both tradition and innovation. Known for his experimentation with form and light, Nason collaborated with AV Mazzega to create distinctive, forward-thinking pieces. AV Mazzega, based in Murano, is renowned for its quality glasswork and longstanding commitment to Italian craftsmanship. Together, they produced numerous designs like the LT 316 floor lamp, which showcase Nason’s refined aesthetic and Mazzega’s expertise in glass.

Design

The LT 316 floor lamp is crafted from white shaded glass and composed of six stacked cylindrical sections. Inside, five E14 lamp sockets are positioned along its height, with a larger E27 socket at the top. This setup allows the lamp to provide a soft, even glow, with each glass element subtly diffusing the light. The cylindrical sections are carefully assembled to create a balanced, cohesive structure. The lamp’s design emphasizes clean lines and an uninterrupted flow of light, making it very attractive and eye-catching. With its timeless design and high-quality materials, the LT 316 is a piece that reflects Nason’s focus on pure aesthetics and AV Mazzega’s craftsmanship. Decades after its release, it remains a versatile lighting option that fits well into both modern and classic interiors, demonstrating the enduring appeal of Nason’s design.

Condition

The condition of this lamp is very good. The baseplate shows some signs of oxidation, and the same counts for the fixtures.
