A luminous column of sculptural clarity, the Minosse floor lamp by Carlo Nason for Linea GB offers a compelling fusion of modular form and diffused illumination. Originating in the 1960s, this rare model is documented in a Linea GB leaflet of the period, reproduced in the monograph Carlo Nason: Handle with Care.

Design

The design is composed of three interlocking modules, each moulded in thick white glass. Each section features a central concave spiral, drawing the eye inward and revealing a chrome-plated fitting at the core. Slightly rotated in sequence, the elements form a totemic structure that balances symmetry with subtle movement. The glass, with its milky translucency, filters the light to create a soft, ambient glow; enhancing both the sculptural silhouette and the interior atmosphere.

Nason, best known for his Murano work with Mazzega, experimented with new materials and modular design principles during this period. While much of his glass production focused on blown forms, the Minosse illustrates a controlled, mould-based technique that aligns more with industrial production. Produced by Linea GB, a smaller Italian firm with limited surviving documentation, this lamp stands out for its clarity of concept and play with geometry.

Condition
The lamp is in good vintage condition with minor signs of wear. The original glass modules are intact, with some light scuffing and small surface irregularities consistent with its age and material.
