Design from this era often worked with restraint and motion. These vintage Italian nightstands, produced around the late 1950s or early 1960s, embody that rhythm—combining sculptural legs, subtle detailing, and clean geometry.
Design
Each piece is constructed with mahogany veneer, resting on four tapered legs that tilt ever so slightly outward. The profile is light, but the build is solid. A single drawer floats beneath the main volume, finished with a brass pull. Above that, a narrow open compartment sits recessed under a cantilevered glass top, offering space for books or small essentials. The glass itself is tinted and framed subtly by the wood edge.
From the side, the structure reveals a thoughtful play of lines: curved joints, softened corners, and a hollowed underside that adds visual lift. This combination of form and function echoes Italian design’s move toward elegance without fuss. While minimal, the set avoids strict symmetry. Legs are set slightly back from the edge, adding depth and refinement. The drawer fronts are rounded, not flush—enough to shift the feel without shouting.
These nightstands hold quiet complexity. They work together, but each has enough identity to stand on its own.
Condition
Overall condition is very good. Some signs of use to the surfaces and glass, consistent with age and material.
