Raak was one of the most important Dutch lighting manufacturers from the middle of the last century, mainly designing innovative products with a modest character. The design of these refined “Yin-Yang” lamps, which were also called “Puntkomma” in addition to the type number C1636, were created by Hermian Sneyders de Vogel. A Dutch designer who, in addition to a wide range of furniture design, could also count jewelry design among her expertise.
Design
This set of five lamps are made of brushed aluminum, three of which are copper-colored. The sloping line in the middle, which is reminiscent of the ancient Chinese sign for cosmic duality Yin-Yang, is part of the shade behind which the light source is situated. Due to the curve of the lamp, the light is beautifully spread and remains "trapped" in the shade. A truly beautiful effect.
Condition
Over the years, light spots and patination have developed on the aluminum, adding character and appearance. Each lamp carries the original Raak label within the shade. The fitting is of the E27 type, a large fitting.

I recently bought some amazing Artwork from AtKris Studio online. The whole experience was amazing. The transaction was amazingly efficient. The crating and shipping of the artwork to the United States from the Netherlands could not have gone smoother and the customer service was spot on!! Krista was amazing and I highly recommend AtKris Studio!
This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
Excellent responsiveness, and with wonderful curatorial chops!
