A sculptural presence shaped by light and material, this lamp reflects the expressive language of Italian design in the 1970s. It carries the signature balance between artistry and function often associated with Luciano Frigerio’s work.
Design
The composition centres on a solid brass base with a rectangular volume, partly smooth and partly worked in relief. One face presents an almost architectural surface, while the other reveals a textured, organic pattern reminiscent of vertical striations interrupted by a radiant sun motif. This contrast gives the object a dual character: restrained on one side, expressive on the other. The brass has developed a warm tone that responds softly to light, enhancing the depth of the relief. Above, a cylindrical stem leads to a fabric shade that diffuses light evenly, creating a calm and ambient glow. The proportions feel considered, with the weight of the base grounding the lighter textile shade. Frigerio, known for combining art and craftsmanship, often collaborated with metalworkers to achieve such sculptural surfaces, linking his furniture and lighting to a more architectural sensibility.
A balanced object that operates both as a functional light source and as a compact sculptural element. It fits naturally within a curated interior where material and form are given space to resonate.
Condition
The condition is good with visible signs of age on the brass, including light surface wear and patina. The shade shows minor ageing and subtle marks consistent with use.
The table lamp comes without the lamp shade, however this can be added when available.
Quality, flexibility, very good communication, very happy with the coffee table I bought.
This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
I recently bought some amazing Artwork from AtKris Studio online. The whole experience was amazing. The transaction was amazingly efficient. The crating and shipping of the artwork to the United States from the Netherlands could not have gone smoother and the customer service was spot on!! Krista was amazing and I highly recommend AtKris Studio!
