Design

The lamp is constructed around a sequence of individually shaped wooden elements, arranged vertically to form a slender column. Each element resembles a flattened pebble, with softly rounded edges and subtle variations in proportion. Their repetition creates movement along the stem, changing gradually according to the viewing angle. A broad, low wooden base continues the same organic vocabulary and gives the tall composition visual stability.

Dark-stained wood forms the principal material, with warmer brown tones and visible grain appearing through the finish. Areas of wear and variation in colour emphasise the character of the timber and give the surface a natural depth. Rather than relying on decorative carving, the design draws its identity from the profile of each turned or shaped section and the spaces created between them.

A small brass fitting connects the wooden body to the light source, introducing a restrained contrast in material. The conical textile shade shown here complements the proportions of the base, its broad silhouette counterbalancing the narrow vertical stem.
