A luminous composition by Mazzega in chrome and Murano glass. This chandelier by Mazzega, designed in the early 1970s, captures the elegance and experimental energy of Italian lighting design at its peak.
Design
The lamp is composed of six individually blown Murano glass spheres, each mounted on a sculptural chrome arm. These spheres enclose warm amber-coloured cores with organic, floral-like protrusions that subtly refract light. When lit, the chandelier produces a radiant warmth, softened by the clarity of the glass and contrasted by the sleek chrome structure. The metal frame flows outward in six curved arms, each precisely slotted to cradle its glass globe. The symmetrical arrangement and soft diffusion of light reflect the bold yet refined direction of Italian Space Age lighting. This design is often attributed to Carlo Nason, who collaborated extensively with Mazzega during this period. His pieces are recognised for merging industrial forms with glass artistry, and this chandelier carries that same DNA—its rhythm, balance, and material contrast make it both functional and sculptural. Suspended from a polished canopy and chain, the chandelier commands attention without excess.
Condition
The chandelier is in good vintage condition. The chrome arms display some light oxidation and surface wear consistent with age. All six Murano glass globes are intact, without cracks or chips. One of the rings that make up for the chain shows a slight distortion, which will be corrected in our workshop. Additionally, the original chain can be extended by 25 cm using the included spare rings.
I just received the absolutely gorgeous credenza yesterday. It was professionally packaged and delivered just as promised. I cannot more highly recommend AtKris Studio.
This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
Quality, flexibility, very good communication, very happy with the coffee table I bought.
